Jake Tapper's New Role: Leading CNN's Streaming Service

CNN+ Set to Launch in Second Quarter of 2022

Tapper to Host New Daily Show on Platform

CNN has announced that Jake Tapper will lead its upcoming streaming service, CNN+, as its chief anchor and lead correspondent.

CNN+ is set to launch in the second quarter of 2022 and will offer a variety of live, on-demand, and original programming.

Tapper will host a new daily show on the platform, in addition to continuing his current role as host of "The Lead with Jake Tapper" on CNN.

In a statement, Tapper said he is "excited to be a part of this new chapter in CNN's history." He added that CNN+ "will be a place where people can come for in-depth analysis, trusted reporting, and engaging storytelling."

CNN+ will be available on a variety of devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and mobile devices.

The service will cost $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year.

CNN is hoping that CNN+ will help it compete with other streaming services, such as Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max.

The service will also give CNN a way to reach younger audiences who are increasingly cutting the cord on traditional cable TV.

CNN+ is part of CNN's broader strategy to expand its digital presence and reach new audiences.

In recent years, CNN has launched a number of new digital products, including CNN+, CNN Underscored, and CNN Health.

CNN is also investing heavily in its digital advertising business.

The company is hoping that these investments will help it compete with other media companies and continue to be a leading source of news and information for global audiences.
